Ryan’s interest in architectural design began at an early age and continued to develop throughout high school. He attended the University at Buffalo, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture, with a concentration in resilient and sustainable design. During his academic career, Ryan studied abroad in Ireland and Scotland, where he traveled extensively and developed relationships with internationally recognized firms, including O’Donnell + Tuomey and Bucholz McEvoy Architects.
He began working at Granoff Architects in 2024 as an intern during the summer and academic breaks. Prior to joining the firm, Ryan worked directly with a residential contractor, gaining hands-on experience in construction and renovation through active on-site work and interpretation of architectural drawings from the builder’s perspective. This experience strengthened his understanding of how design decisions translate into built work and impact constructability, sequencing, and real-world conditions.
Ryan grew up in Mount Kisco, New York. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, watching sports, and cooking.
