KEN ANDERSEN

Principal

Ken Andersen has been with Granoff Architects since 1997 and a Principal since 2004. In his long tenure at the firm, Ken has been a key designer and project architect for many of our major residential projects. He is directly involved in consistently ensuring that projects are successful from design through construction. Ken has also been a driving force in shaping Granoff Architects’ unique design direction and in fostering the studio’s incomparable creative environment.

As one of the firm’s principals, Ken is responsible for residential design, coordinating much of the firm’s project development, as well as budgeting and construction administration. He encourages the firm’s commitment to great design, while maintaining a successful collaboration between the architect, client, and builder.

Prior to joining Granoff Architects, Ken worked at Haverson Architecture and Design, where he focused on high-end residential and commercial design. Since 1995, Ken has been involved in numerous residential and commercial projects, from extreme renovations to new homes of all sizes and style.

Ken brings many years of practical, residential architecture experience to the Granoff team. Before starting his career as an architect, Ken was a carpenter and worked in all aspects of residential construction. It is this practical knowledge that strengthens his ability to translate a client’s needs and transform them into reality as a built project. Ken places a premium on listening to and understanding the needs of our clients. This high standard of communication is invaluable in the creation of the unique designs that characterize Granoff Architects’ rigorous professional standards.

Ken earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University in 1993. He studied in Florence and has traveled extensively throughout Italy and Europe.  He is a member of the AIA and is a registered architect in the state of New York.

The Andersens live in Chappaqua, NY in a home that Ken renovated himself.
