ERIK ZAMBELL

Principal / AIA

Erik joined Granoff Architects in 1999 and has worked his way to Principal in charge of Complex Projects. Erik infuses his passion for design and diverse expertise into all manner of projects. A seasoned design professional, Erik continues to bring the same enthusiasm and skill to every aspect of his work: from the careful development of the smallest detail, to the comprehensive design and construction of large developments. He was the Project Architect for many Tri-State projects including Armonk Square, Shelter Ridge, The Modern on Field Point Road, Beacon Hill, Silo Ridge and the Chabad Synagogue of Greenwich.

A native Midwesterner, Erik grew up in Ohio, where he received both his Bachelors and Masters of Architecture Degrees from the Knowlton School of Architecture at the Ohio State University (in 1994 and 1996, respectively). Erik has also studied urban planning and design at the prestigious Architecture Association (AA) in London. He has a love for contemporary philosophy and art, two disciplines that greatly influence his architecture and building design. Erik is inspired by the combination of these theoretical pursuits along with the influence of context and  the “atmosphere of place” to create great architecture.

Erik is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He lives in Roslyn, NY with his family in a home that he designed and built. The Zambells are active in the local community through organizations such as Birthday Wishes of Long Island, Herricks and Roslyn Schools, and the Tender Loving Care Foundation.
